Sometimes I think my ADD affects my knitting. And y’know, that’s probably right.
I finally turned the heel of the sock and now I’m doing the gusset decreases so that I can finish the foot of it. This is also my oldest “in progress” project that I haven’t put on hold (there is yet another pair of socks, this time for myself that I’ve knitted one of but still need to make the other).
The next project I’m working on is the shawl I mentioned in my last post. I actually ran out of the blue I was using so I chose an orange that I liked the look of from the yarn I already own. I don’t have a picture of that at the moment but I’ll most definitely post some soon, as I should be finishing that within a day or two.
I also recently ordered both Charmed Knits: Projects for Fans of Harry Potter and Elizabeth Zimmermann’s Knitter’s Almanac: Projects for Each Month of the Year, the second book is a tad out of date but there’s still a lot of good patterns in it. The one I’ve chosen to start (completely ignoring the order of the book) is the the “Pi Shawl” that is the project for the month of July. You can see my cast on here:
It is started on double pointed needles (using size 6 bamboo needles here) and then migrated to larger circular needles (size 10) after the initial rows are knit. This is going to be a circular shawl and I just can’t wait to see how it goes.
The last thing I’m working on (for now) is a blanket in a nice cream color that I found at the store. You can see the beginning stages here:
This is the 1lb skein of yarn I got (I also got a smaller one to make up the yardage needed for the blanket).
Here’s the blanket (all squashed onto one straight needle) when I finished the 12 rows of border knit. You can’t really see the pattern unfortunately but I’ll be switching over to a large pair of circulars to give myself more space to finish it.
Anyways, that’s all I’m working on for now. But I think 4 in progress projects are plenty for me and two of them should be finished soon. I can’t wait.
