FO: Viking Socks and New Update Schedule

Hiya folks!

Sorry about being away for so long, classes are taking a ton of time (like they always do). I have some good news! I finished the KAL I was working on! And it’s before the deadline too, which is great.

So here they are, the FO – Viking Socks (Rav link).

I love the cables on them. And they’re very comfy. I’m wearing them right now! 🙂

These were made using Lion Brand Sock-Ease (a wool yarn) in the ‘Root Beer’ colorway. The funny thing is, I don’t like the drink Root Beer (never have) but I love this warm chocolaty brown of the colorway. Go figure. I have another skein of the same yarn in the ‘Taffy’ colorway, which is predominantly blue with orange and brown in it. It’s a great yarn that softens with use. I’m still trying to figure out what to do with the other skein, but I’ll decide eventually.

The next project I’m planning to focus on is the Meava socks (Rav link) I’ve had on the needles since November when I came down with a case of starterisis. I’m hoping to finish them next, and then focus on the two shawls I still have on the needles that were started in November/December.

As for a new update schedule, I’m going to keep updating when I can, but for now I’m going to cut down to once a week. With all of my classwork, it’s hard to carve out time to get things done that aren’t related to class. I may or may not update more than once a week, but I’m planning to have at least one update a week. I don’t want this blog to die after all 🙂

  1. I love the cables on that sock. Very nice indeed. I do like the taste of root beer but even if I didn’t I’d agree with you on the colour!

    1. Thank you! The cables were a bit of a challenge at first but eventually I got into the rhythm and they went smoothly after that. It was a fun knit for certain.
